It seems like forever ago, when we were in France, and we were planning this trip to Legoland. The specifics of the trip, not the general idea of it, because our plan was to go to Legoland at the end of March, or early April, and give the boys a fantastic birthday surprise. And, we kind of thought that we'd enjoy it, too. ;)
We originally were trying to get to Legoland in Billund, Denmark, but the flights had quite horrendous connections, and the cost was much, much more than we could reasonably handle. So, we investigated the Germany option for Legoland. We found direct flights on a super-sweet deal, and the timing was optimal for us, too. The package that we booked for accommodation and park passes was also very reasonable, so YAY! We booked us a trip to Legoland, Deutschland!!
It was a fantastic trip, full of fantasy and excitement and fun. We rode the mini train around the park, and rode on boats, and went on a Lego safari in jeeps, and walked through a medieval Lego castle, and admired the many Lego pigeons that decorated the crenelations of the castle. We walked through fantastic displays of incredible Lego engineering, and for the first time, I was a bit sad that I hadn't followed through and received my Engineering degree, because I could potentially have built and mechanized Lego creations for the rest of my life! Oh, well, there is hope for my children to get such a job. With behind the scene passes for their Momma. :D
The children were so excited, they were vibrating the whole time we were there. We will certainly be doing this again. In fact, another family plan is to visit all of the Legoland parks in the world, before the children have left home. Sounds fun, doesn't it!!
See, E, B & K, says Carson, Riley & Margo! There is, too, a Legoland in Deutschland!!
This grin never left Riley's face the entire time we were there. It was beautiful.
Carson and Margo flying the plane. They couldn't get enough of this ride.
Lloyd and Margo had fun
in the airplane together.
Margo was particularly excited because she
got to control the plane this time,
and move the plane up and down as it
went around the circle.
We all thought that the gargoyle in the castle was oh, so cool,
and the catapult was a favourite, too.
(I thought the person-shaped hole in the gate was a nice touch!)
As dinosaur and Lego crazy as my family is, this was HUGE for them!
